i finally managed to join in on an adoption meme going round on flickr. i got tagged just before we went on holidays but since there were people still doing it, i figured better late than never. basically it works like this. you take a group picture of your dolls or make a collage of them, whichever works better (due to the widely disparate size of mine i figured the collage was a better bet) then people look at the dolls and decide which of them they would like to adopt if they could pick one without changing anything, and vote for their choice in the comments section. each person that joins in is then “tagged” to do the same with their crew.
so this isn’t all my dolls, since several of them are undergoing revision right now and are in pieces but they are the ones available for photos

adoption meme
sleepytime swap
smidge and beezie were in a lovely pj swap with revolutionary cake. unfortunately the post office lost our first package to her, and we are still waiting to see if the makeup one arrives. having sent it off at least the girls got to see what they received. (they waited till they had posted off their second attempt before open their own gifts. admirable self restraint i thought!)
but here they are gloating over the huge pile of packages.
beezie was ready to dive right in, but smidge insisted on sorting first.
“look at all the stuff we got!” beezie cooed, we need to try on the jammies right away!
don’t they look sweet! and they can’t stop cuddling their new friends! beezie is blowing kisses to aunty jo!
smidge said i have to show off the cute bum flap! (beezie found that hysterical) then both of them curled up under their blankies and went to sleep.
30 day photo challenge day 4
4. dolls without faces
once again my realpuki’s steal the show…
i had every intention of getting noni, amberglas and crystalorn to help me bake tonight. i thought i could probably get my challenge photo while they were busy mixing. imagine my surprise when we all came into the kitchen to find smidge and beezie already busy at work. needless to say i took a couple quick photos of my helpful little sprites, and told the girls they could be in the picture tomorrow…
30 day photo challenge day 2
2) a picture of your doll next to a stack of unusual objects that equal their approximate height.
at first i was tempted to measure them against chocolate chips, because everything goes well with chocolate. 😉 but then i figured, that in keeping with the one blue-stocking theme, it would be much better to measure the girls against a stack of yarn or books…. ever indecisive i used both! 🙂
so, one littlefee, eilidh, is equal to 7 partly used balls of yarn or 16 miniature books.
one pukifee, crystalorn, is equal to 4 partly used balls of yarn or 9-1/2 miniature books
one realpuki, smidge, (with wild hair) is equal to 2 partly used balls of yarn or 7 miniature books (or so she claims and who am i to argue?)
…….and beezie (up on top) claims she is the biggest of them all! 😆
what we found in the woods today
beezie and i went exploring in the woods. she climbed up this bush to get at the ripe buffalo berries.
peeking over every log and under every bush, but she wouldn’t tell me what she was looking for…
maybe under here?
spying a glimpse of blue beezie pulled back a leaf to find an unusual seedpod
beezie snuck in for a closer look. “you’re exactly what i was looking for!”
smiling, the stranger climbed out of her pod
hi, i’m smidge. can we be friends?
of course beezie said “yes!” so off the new friends went exploring together..
they found many wonderful things
then rested together on a giant toadstool
it is just the start of many wonderful adventures together….
what we got in return
here is an absolutely gorgeous outfit we got from smilga (see link on side to see more of her wonderful stuff!)
beezie wanted to show how nice it looks with her new hair and of course her ever present goggles 😆
we were fighting the wind (blowing her hair) our cat (sure she must be a strange mouse) and strong shadows ’cause it was kind of late in the day. i’ll have to take a better picture later.
digging for gold (or pink)
i meant to add this post before smilga’s gift arrived and i posted the finished quilt. instead you get to see the “before” shot, after. 😆
i’m doing a swap with someone, a quilt for a crocheted dress. it’s a fun idea and the girls helped me pick out the fabric. they were busily diving through a bin of fabric looking for just the right ones. beezie is determined that the best fabric is down below, just waiting to be discovered, noni keeps get side-tracked. “this is pretty she exclaims, “i’d like something out of this….” she looks up beseechingly. ellyce is determined to keep them on track. “she SAID she wanted PINK!” she firmly instructs the other two.
an unusual seed pod
i found an unusual seed under a cabbage leaf in my garden. i thought it was just a myth that babies are found under cabbage leaves, but you never know….
